Hey everyone! I’m Sara Gilbert. I was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and raised in Norman. I frequently still go to Lawton being that I have most of my family there. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Human Relations Degree. I enjoy my major because I get to help others through volunteer work, and supporting diversity and inclusion. I have many hobbies that surround my major including volunteering, hanging out with friends, family and my dogs. My world revolves around being social and enjoying fun activities. Some of my favorite pastimes include reality tv, art, crafts and outdoor activities.
I went to the University of Oklahoma in hopes of pursuing a degree in Orthodontics. Soon after starting my basics I realized it was not the degree for me because too much science was involved. I searched for the right degree path and took the degree test finder that the University of Oklahoma offers. The top listed career happened to be Human Relations. HR required a lot of the skill set that I can provide. I was intrigued by the meaning of Human Relations and how I could change lives and help others. It has always been a goal of mine to make everyone feel included and equal and I found a career path that can allow me to do so.
Through many classes I have ultimately achieved the knowledge and personal skill set to be able to take my career to the next level. I look forward to finding a job that is a good fit for me, where I will continue to grow through the business. I am seeking a job opportunity that focuses on my personal development, uses my skill set, and sets the stage for Human Relations on an advanced corporate level. I have grown immensely throughout college through my courses and I have my HR professors to thank for that. My new found knowledge can be expressed when I get into a job that allows me to have creative freedom along with equal opportunity rights. I could not be more excited about this next chapter of my life.
