Hello, my name is LaRon Stokes. This December I graduate from OU with an HR degree! Its been a good journey for me as this was not my first major. I ended up choosing HR because this degree course teaches many good lessons about life and things that are currently going on today, particularly on social issues.
Throughout my life, social injustices have always been made aware to me because I am a minority. This has allowed me to always think of the minority group or groups with compassion whether it be women, African-Americans, or immigrants. I also attended a predominantly white elementary school in Tulsa, Ok, which allowed me to interact with kids who were not of my race and it also helped me to not treat anyone differently regardless of skin color.
