About me

Hello e-portfolio browser! My name is Andrew Dornieden and I am graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Human Relations. My time as an HR undergraduate fleshed out my abilities to consider a variety of perspectives when resolving interpersonal conflicts as well as more firmly comprehend social justice issues and the root causes of oppressive systems.

My degree program introduced me to the Earth Rebirth non-profit in Norman. We helped build, distribute, and collect the results of surveys associated with their community organizing app. The hope is that the community organizing app will help proliferate food gardens in schools and community centers, once it is fully developed. I also visited different elementary schools and spoke with them about Earth Rebirth’s educational materials, garden building, and fundraising initiatives.

Early on in my college career, I worked as a Human Resources Intern at Sante Healthcare in Oregon. I worked on several office projects, designed employee cultural training materials, and helped with administrative problems. More recently, I’ve been working at the OU Law Library on the Native American Constitution and Law Digitization Project. We’ve scanned, treated, and uploaded thousands of documents from old congressional volumes relevant to the United States’ and Oklahoma’s legal relationships with tribes throughout the states.

My experiences at Sante Operations, Earth Rebirth, and the Digitization Project have given me significant office experience and a dedication to projects that make a difference. Working on cultural training materials, driving out to one-on-one meetings with school principals, and a careful touch on aging congressional records and image treatment work, I’ve learned a great deal. Once I have graduated, I hope to pursue apply what I’ve learned to social work or further library work.
